Reflexology

Reflexology is a profoundly relaxing treatment that helps to restore a feeling of wellbeing to your body and mind, and reduce stress and tension.

Reflexology is non-invasive and treats you holistically based on the principle that different points on the feet correspond with all the organs and systems of the body; the whole body is mapped out on the feet. By applying pressure to specific points or reflexes on the feet, can benefit your physical body as well as your emotions so promoting good health. Reflexology helps the body to restore its natural balance and encourages it to heal itself. Reflexology dates back to Ancient Egyptian times and has the same concept of an underlying life force as other healing systems, such as acupuncture.

Due to illness, injury or stress your body can experience an imbalance and your vital energy channels may become congested or blocked; this may affect the body functioning efficiently. Why not have a look for yourself?

My Reflexology training included Light Touch Technique, which gently produces deep relaxation. I also have a diploma in Clinical Reflexology, and so your treatment will be tailored to your needs and I adapt the techniques that I use to suit you. I am also trained in Reflexology Lymph drainage RLD, and use acupoints to enhance your treatment.

What to expect

The session starts by discussing lifestyle, current symptoms and medical history. During your Reflexology treatment, you will be lying comfortably on a couch covered with a warm throw and with nothing to do but relax. I use finger and thumb techniques on the reflexes to promote deep relaxation, which can activate your body’s own self-healing system and help achieve a natural state of balance.
Reflexology can support you with the following:

  • Reduce stress
  • Promote relaxation
  • Increase vitality
  • Improve sleep
  • Improve circulation
  • Reduce pain levels.

After a treatment, you are likely to feel your tension has reduced and you may feel more relaxed. You are likely to sleep better and find you feel better in yourself. However, everyone experiences the effects differently.

On the strength of the findings of RLD research projects and case studies, plans are already in place for further research.
Have had a couple of 6 session courses of Reflexology (and included some shiatsu )treatments, one when very stressed with work and another when falling ill with autoimmune illness. Jane took the time to work on specific aspects, but every time I came away very calm and relaxed and by end of 6 sessions realised that it works very subtle way. Would recommend it.

I’ve been visiting Jane for Reflexology for over 6 years now. I initially saw her for help with conception & then continued to see her for Maternity Reflexology throughout my pregnancy. Even now, Jane is always the first person I turn to for complementary therapies – both Reflexology & Shiatsu are amazing and leave me totally relaxed. I can’t recommend her enough.
